Ex-employee at Waco home improvement company pleads guilty to stealing $60K in materials

A former employee of a Waco home improvement company pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing $60,000 worth of flooring materials last year.

 

Melvin Maclin, 40, who worked at DesignCo., 5506 Franklin Ave., is seeking deferred probation after pleading guilty to theft of more than $30,000 but less than $150,000, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

 

The McLennan County District Attorney’s Office recommended that Maclin be placed on felony deferred probation for 10 years and ordered to make $60,000 in restitution to the company during his time on probation.

Loomis employee accused of stealing money from ATMs

A Loomis employee is behind bars after investigators said he stole money from the ATMs he serviced.

 

On Aug. 5, a Craighead County sheriff’s deputy responded to a theft by an employee on 6604 Highway 1, according to the probable cause affidavit.

 

Matt Whittington and Matt McGaugh told police they worked for Loomis and were the bosses overseeing the incident.

They told police they had caught an employee, Johnathon Dudley Sykes, stealing money from ATMs. 

 

According to the court documents, Sykes stole a total of $4,699; $2,149 of it was taken from ATMs within Jonesboro.

Former Fred Meyer employee who stole over $60K sentenced to 26 months in prison

A former Fred Meyer employee from Oregon City was sentenced to 26 months in prison after stealing over $60,000 from the retailer.

 

Rainbow Melodi Stammet, 44, was sentenced in a Clackamas County court after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree aggravated theft and one count of first-degree theft.

 

According to the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office, Stammet had worked for Fred Meyer for about two years.
