How Technology is Catching Hidden Hazards Before People Get Hurt
In workplaces, shopping centers, and even homes, safety has long relied on human attention and maintenance routines.
Yet, slips, trips, and falls remain some of the most common causes of injury each year.
Now, as technology begins to blend with safety science, a new form of prevention is emerging, one that detects hazards before a person ever has the chance to get hurt. From AI-powered cameras to pressure-sensitive flooring, innovation is changing how we think about everyday risks.
This shift represents more than convenience. It is about making environments truly responsive to the people inside them. When a floor becomes slick or lighting fails in a stairwell, smart systems can recognize the problem instantly.
Instead of reacting after someone gets injured, these systems intervene early.
